On this site you will find photographs of public houses throughout Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.
The Pubs in Sheffield website is an ongoing project building into a comprehensive photo archive of public houses in Sheffield.
Public houses are deeply embedded in our culture and most of us identify with a local or have a favourite pub. They are often the hub of local communities and landmarks by which we offer directions! The economic climate has resulted in a decline in the number of public houses and many are disappearing for good. This site will showcase wonderfully vibrant pubs that thrive in Sheffield despite the hard times and also the pubs that have sadly closed down. As the city landscape evolves and changes, pubs or their absence will always influence the identity of an area or community. Pubs of Sheffield is a celebration of public houses past and present. We hope that you will enjoy browsing the site. If you wish to find a specific pub then click on the archives page where you can search using a street or road name, postcode or the name of the pub.
Each pub has a main photograph. If you click through to view the photograph you will also find further small images and information.
If your favourite pub isn’t featured then do get in touch through the contact page and we will do our best to include it as soon as possible.
We are interested in adding information about the pubs. If you know the history of your local or how it’s name relates to the area or anything that may be of interest let us know so we may add it to the website.
If you wish to receive updates when new pubs are added to the site then simply add your email address to the box at the top on the right hand side of this page. When a new pub is added you will receive an email with a photograph and information about the pub. We respect privacy and your email address will not be used for any other purposes or passed to anyone else.
